During the five-day visit of the Kirkuk University’s delegates at Islamic Azad University-IAU, the Cooperation MoU was signed between the universities to establish collaborative activities for the students and faculty members’ mobility, joint academic and research activities as well as establishment of the IAU branch in Kirkuk.  
The IAU Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs and Non-Iranian Students, Mr. Alireza Sheikh Attar after signing a memorandum of understanding with the University of Kirkuk expressed that the joint agreement between the two universities will open new horizons for the development of cultural and scientific relations between the two sides. He added that Kirkuk University, despite its recent establishment, has experienced development in all aspects, and the signed MoU should be changed to an agreement for implementing the articles of the MoU in near future. He also expressed his readiness to establish strong scientific relations with Iraqi universities.
The Kirkuk University’s delegations visited the IAU branches’ central library, central laboratories, and the educational hospital. Besides, the Kirkuk’s University officials were also attended a meeting with the Cultural Counselor at the Iraqi embassy in Tehran to discuss about increasing the prospects of cooperation and coordination with the Iranian universities.
The Kirkuk University’s delegates comprised of the Vice-President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Dean of the College of Nursing, Dean of the College of Engineering, Dean of the Faculty of Basic Education, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry.
